Sophie O’ Callaghan
UX Researcher
Sophie O Callaghan is a UX Researcher specialising in user interface design, wireframing and accessibility-focused experiences. Currently in her final year of university, she is dedicated to creating inclusive, user-centred digital experiences that support clarity, usability and meaningful interaction.
She has hands on experience conducting heuristic evaluations, informing design decisions through user research and producing UX deliverables such as personas, user journey maps, and low-to-high fidelity wireframes. Her past work includes research and design for a cyber security website, where she focused on usability issues and data visualisation. She also contributed to a project centred on accessibility and support needs, creating detailed personas developed from interviews with older adults, support workers, and adults with intellectual disabilities.
Proficient in tools such as Figma and Miro, Sophie approaches UX challenges with a balance of analytical thinking and visual communication. She is particularly passionate about accessibility and inclusive design, working to ensure that each experience is usable and welcoming for a diverse range of users.
Beyond her academic work, she volunteers at university events and serves as a member of the MTU Universal Design Framework Implementation Steering Committee, contributing to initiatives that promote accessibility and universal design principles across campus.
